Happy Halloween with Shawn Petite Stencils!

Hello and happy Halloween all!

well, you may know, I am not the Halloween lover, but some supplies are great. So I took one of the new Fall stencils from Shawn Petite, called "Fall Leaves with Masks" and made a Halloween art journal page in my new journal for my time as a Shawn Petite Creative Team Member.

I will show you some steps, how I made this page:

I grabbed some DecoArt acrylic paints in autumnly colors and created the background.
I spreat the colors randomly over the page.

I took my paint markers and added pattern all over the page, just doodling!

When this was done, I took the Seth Apter designed PaperArtsy stamps and stamped patterns with VersaFine clair Morning Mist. This is what the page looked like when I was ready.

Time for using the leave masks! I positioned the masks on the page and painted the space around them with brown acrylic paint. It needed 2 coats to cover the background. After that I used a white posca pen to surround the leaves and doodled around the edges.

Now I only had to add some spiderweb decoration behind the paper dolls, glue them down and add a little felt pumpkin. I took a funny quote from Tim Holtz, which says:"When the broom fits, ride it!"
Lol.

Here are some close ups from the leaves:

I hope you like my little Halloween page!
I wish you a creepy evening!
Thank you for your visit!

Create Magic - Mixed Media Canvas

Hello all,
today I want present you my make for Bleeding Art, where I was invited as their guest this month.
I was the winner of the August challenge with this art journal page.

I decided to make a little canvas for the Anything Goes theme.

In September I took part in a workshop with the wonderful Anna Dabrovska (finnabair) in Munich. I enjoyed the workshop very much and I wanted to make something like in the workshop, so I decided to make this canvas in the "finnabair-way".

Here are the canvas and the notebook, I made in the workshop:

And this is how I made the canvas:

I started with a blank canvas and first gave it a coat of white Gesso. Then, when dry, I added some white crackle paint here and there.

I glued down many embellishments, some made out of Prima moulds, some metal embellishments, flowers, lace, chipboard, .......and much more! When everything was dry and stayed save in place, I went over with white Gesso.

Then I added color, liquid acrylics from finnabair in Purple and Magenta, then I dry brushed the surface until I was happy, added some shine with finnabair Metallic Acrylic Paint White Pearl. Some waxpaste was added here and there, Rust Paste, hot glue stripes, art pebbles sugar and some splatters with black Gesso. Last I added some words from Tim Holtz Big Chat.

Now I hope you like my canvas and feel inspired!
Thank you for your visit!

Bokeh Birthday Card with Hot Picks Stamps

Hello everyone, nice to have you here today!

For the Bokeh challenge over at Country View Challenges this month I made again a birthday card and this time I used a PaperArtsy stamp set. This stamp set is so, so cool! It´s the Hot Picks HP1904EZ.

For my bokeh background I used 4 different shades of pink and purple DI and colored a sheet of watercolor paper.

For the bokeh effect I used again my bubble stencil and a foam of the round ink blending tool with white ink. I overlapped the circles for more interest. Last I framed the card with pink DI.

Time for stamping! I stamped the long numbers stamp some times to my background and heat embossed it with black embossing powder. The main image I stamped on a seperate cardstock, colored it and fuzzy cut it.

The birthday wishes I stamped and embossed on a precolored piece of paper and cut it to size.

Then I assembled everything, I used black lace behind the face - I really love how this looks!
Some flowers and leaves completed my composition.

Here are some close ups:

That´s it for today! I hope you feel motivated to make a pretty something with bokeh effect for the challenge! You know, you have the chance to win a 20£ voucher for the shop!

Now thank you for your visit and may be you want to come back this afternoon, there I´ll show you another work as a guest at Bleeding Art!

Have a wonderful day and thank you for your visit!

Autumnal Bokeh Card

Hello everyone,

this month we have a really great theme at Country View Challenges - Bokeh!
If you are wondering, what it is, you will find several tutorials on YouTube.
Simply explained: set white points of light on a inked background.
But you will find a better definition on the blog from our lovely hostess Sue.

I decided to make a autumnal card.

And this is what I did:

I pulled out some green and yellow Distress inks and a white cardstock. I stepped out of my comfort zone, I do not use these colors very often!

This is how it looked after inking.

For the Bokeh effect I simply used the bubble stencil from finnabair and white ink. I moved the stencil here and there to get a bigger variety.

Now I distressed the edges with DI vintage photo to frame it.

I used a stampset from Visible Image and stamped it several times on top of my card with the stamping platform.

Now I only had to matte it onto a card - and that´s it!
I really like how it turned out!

Now it´s your turn to make something with the Bokeh technique!

Thank you for your visit today!
