Halloween Family

Hello dear Blog friends,
today I want to share with you my second make for the "All Things Spooky" challenge over at Country View Challenges, the scary Halloween Family!

I took a brown envelope for my project and played along with some mediums and paints.
Here are the steps:

1. I prepared the envelope with clear Gesso to seal the paper. Inside the envelope I put some
    strong cardboard for more stand.

 2. I mixed Matte Medium with DecoArt media fluid acrylics "Naphtol Red Light".
 3. To create texture I dabbed the mixture with a palette knife on top of the envelope
 4. While the paint/Gel was still wet I added a piece of black spider web I bought in a 1 € store.
 5. Now I mixed DecoArt media acrylics "Paynes Grey" and "Quinacridone Magenta" to get some
     purple color.
6. I dabbed it around the edges of the orange paint/gel. Then I took my heating tool to dry the
paint and to create some bubbles (I love those bubbles ;-) )
 7. Now I matted my photo (from Gecko Galz) with some leftover paper on which I experimented
     with paints.
 8. Distress Ink around the distressed edges helped to fit it better to the background.
 9. Now some stamping for more interest.

10. Watered black and white Gesso, sprinkled all over the background, helps to come all parts
      more together.
  11. I grabbed some clock parts from my collected items in my stash.
 12. I took some wire to frame the photo
 13. glued down all the bits and bobs
14. and added black Gesso and Quinacridone Gold on top all metal pieces to make them look a
     bit rusty.
15. Now I glued down a title and a spider hanging on a threat(from a 1 € store too) and dabbed
some Interference Magenta on top of the spider and the title.
16. Last I glued down some flowers and leaves from my stash.

Well, very picture heavy I fear!

Faces 1

Hallo zusammen!

Hello all! A warm welcome to my blog.
Today I want to show you a new page of my Art Journal. I bought this Journal some time ago. It was sitting on my table, waiting for a theme to be filled with. Now I found it: faces!
On YouTube I discovered an Artist, Juna Biagioni, who paints wonderful faces. After watching some of her videos, I decided to try to paint a face by myself.

This was my first trial.
I was drawing faces years ago, but never painted one.

She looks a little bit like "Avatar", the proportions are not perfect, but I like her. The most difficult thing for me are highlights and shadows (they are not right here too).

Nachdem mir mein erster Versuch sehr viel Spaß gemacht hat, wollte ich natürlich gleich weiter üben.
After having much fun with my first trial, I wanted to make more exercises.

I thought, the Challenge over at More than Words Main Challenge "Change & Ombre" was fitting for my page. Painting is definitely a change to my usual craft work! I also changed the face color into grey. The left side of my pages I made in Ombre - from dark grey to white.

For my portrait, I used a photo from a magazine as a template, just to get a little more security, especially regarding to highlights and shadows.

Hier ist meine Art Journal Seite:
This is my Art Journal page:

Diese Materialien habe ich verwendet:
These are the materials I used:

Was auf dem Foto noch fehlt ist sind Gelatos in der Farbe blau und hautfarben, das Gesso und Matte Medium.
What is missing in the photo are Gelatos in the color blue and skin color, the white Gesso and Matte Medium.

Halloween ATCs

Hello all, nice to have you here!
It´s the first of October and you know what it means: A new challenge over at Country View Challenge! This month the theme is All things spooky!

Although Halloween is not a favourite theme for me, I had much fun, creating this set of ATCs.
I found that little skeletons in a dollor store and thought, I would use them in a bit funny way =)

Here a step x step:

I cut some cardboard and white cardstock into right size.
Then I glued some stripes on top for texture.
Now I prepared the surface with clear Gesso.
To add some more texture I put modeling paste through a stencil
Then it was time for color! I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, Simply sheer and Glimmer Glam in Halloween colors, sprayed directly on top and dried them with a heating tool.
I stamped the crow from a 7Gypsies stamp set and then I glued down the skeletons and embellishments.
Here are the 4 ATCs:

I hope you like my ATCs and feel inspired to join our challenge!
