1929

Hallo liebe Bloggerfreunde!

Hello dear bloggerfriends!
A warm welcome to my blog, I hope you´re having a good week.
May I introduce my grandparents on their wedding 1929.(Note the haircut of my grandfather - today he´d wear a very modern hairstyle * lol * )

I want to go back a bit and tell something to my grandparents, or actually about my grandmother, my grandfather, I have unfortunately never met.

My grandma
was born in 1902 in Silesia, today's Poland , and is nw, unfortunately, for many years dead. For my sister and me, she was always a granny out of a picture book -., We were her eyes star and I have many fond memories from my childhood. She was a very fun-loving, little person (she was only 1,49m tall).

Her life was quite moving and not always easy. Two world wars she has experienced, in the First World War, her brother was severely wounded. In 1929 she married my grandfather, a miner in the coal mine, he was her great love. They had a son, my dad.

When in 1945 the Russian army conquered the territories of today's Poland, my grandfather was deported and died in Russian captivity.

My grandmother and my father had to flee, as you can imagine not a nice time. After prolonged turmoil, the two finally ended up here in Bavaria.

I want to remind with this LO to her and thank her, simply that she was there (on the back I wrote a few words for journalling).

Bei Once Upon a .....
At Once Upon a ..... Sketch with the  Journalling Theme: "The women/girls etc in our lives..."  had to think immediately of my paternal grandmother. Therefor I asked my father to look for some old photographs and I was quite excited when I saw this wedding photo! I have worked after this great sketch.

I was inspired by the wonderful mood board from Rachael Funnell over at Scrap Around The World october challenge. Particulary the butterflies, the vintage-looking image with the bird cage and the zig-zag pattern on the shorts had their influence on my LO.

Oct color challenge
The beautiful colors of the October color challenge at Lindy´s Stamp Gang  are again wonderfully fitting for my LO.
The following colors I used:
Long John´s Silver
Bougainvillea Fuchsia
Pop Rock Purple
Orange Creamsicle
Steel Shimmer
Teeth Chattering Teal (no link available)
Queen Shebas Silver/ Embossingpowder
Sweet Violet Purple Teal  Magicals
Ramblin´ Rose Pink Magicals
creme brulee cream Magicals

Hier ist nun mein LO:
Well, here is my LO:

Und noch ein paar Detailaufnahmen:
And some close ups:

I started with the background:
stenceling with texture crackle and DIs, paperstrips, lace and bows, threat, mists and magicals, embossing, stamping and this time I worked with coffee.
The date I printed, colored with DIs, glued into the frame of the onate plate and covered with cackle accent - I love, how it turned out!
In the flower corner I assimilated a bunch of metal embellishments

That's it for today, I hope you like my little tribute to my grandma!
