A Canvas Corp Crew Project
Hi all, I had the honor of being selected to be
on the Canvas Corp Crew for 2016, and this is my first post for it!
Canvas Corp is based out of Springdale Arkansas and the majority of their
product are made there. They consist of three companies under the Canvas
Corp Brands umbrella, Canvas Home Basics which is geared to home decor,
DIY and paper crafting, 7Gypsies which offers a great vintage funky
vibe to all their papers and embellishments and lastly Tattered Angels
providing a multitude of spays, paints and mediums to enhance any
project you might have in mind. All in all Canvas Corp offers enough to
delight any crafting pallet!
For our first project, we were request to make a Canvas Corp Basics 4" x 4" Canvas to
represent our personality.
For those of you, who know my work a little bit, it won´t be a surprise that I made a Mixed Media project.
I really love to use different mediums, get messy with paints and mists and try out something new.

I
used the 4" x 4" stretched canvas today along with some of the papers from the Cardstock Pad 6 x 6 sheets and several Glimmer Mists, a
piece of the Artsy Sampler on Kraft paper, a rub on from the Victoriana steampunk rubbings from 7gypsies and one of the super cool Optical Lenses Antique Brass objectifs optiques from 7gypsies. I'll list under the supplies at the bottom of this
post.
First of all I prepared my canvas with some clear gesso and adhered some scraps of the papers. Then I used a stencil and modelling paste from my stash to bring more texture to the background. After it was dry, I glued down some tiny metal flowers and the clock key and created the drops with my hot glue gun. The next step was to cover all with white gesso and dried it with the heat tool.

Now it was time for colour! I used three of the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists: Black Cherry, Dragonfly and It´s Black. I loved how the texture of the canvas was spreading the colours! The glue drops I colored with some acrylic paint in gold.
Here are some more close ups:
This was a fun project which shows my love of art. I hope, you´ll stay curious to see, what I´ll show you in 2016 with the Canvas Corps
Crew. Be sure and follow so you don't miss out on the
projects coming in the weeks and months ahead.
