I used the beautiful Mixed Media Origins Mini Art Elegant wings.

Another Christmas Card for CVC

Hello dear visitors, 

I hope you have not too much stress, I know, these days before christmas are very busy, so enjoy a few moments to rest.

Today I want to show you another christmas card for our Christmas Challenge over at Country View Challenges. This time I made a pretty flat one, good for mailing.

I also wanted to go for a monochromatic, restrained style.

So here it is:

I used a 15cm x 15cm (6" x 6") card, some pre gessoed watercolor paper, cut in size, slightly smaller, Distress Oxide shabby shutters and the PaperArtsy stamp set ESC07 .

I smooched the ink on my crafting surface, spritzed with water and put my paper on top. I repeated until the whole paper was covered. Then I spritzed it with water and used a paper towel to soak most of the watered color to get a very soft tone.

When the paper was dry, I created some "hills" with torn paper and DO shabby shutters, which I applied with a blending tool (sorry, I forgot to take a picture). Then I stamped the wonderful tree from the stamp set with Archival Ink Peat Moss. I also stamped only parts of the tree to make them look like standing behind the hills and to create an optical distance. I stamped the sentiment with Archival Ink Potting Soil

For some sparkle I added some snowpaste and glitter on top of the hills. Then I added some snowflakes using a stencil and modeling paste and sprinkled some glittersnow - or snowglitter? on top of them. To add more interest I stamped some flying birds on top.

Lastly I stamped some tiny "snowflakes" and made them shine with diamond stickles. I adhered the picture to the card and added some stamped christmas wishes to the inside - that´s it!

This card is flat enough to be sent by post as a "normal" card!

A Vintage Christmas Card

Hello dear visitor, a warm welcome to my blog!

First of December and only 3 weeks until it´s christmas! It´s christmas time at Country View Challenges too, we want to see your christmas makes this month.

I made a card with this wonderful vintage angel I had in my stash.

For me at christmas time glitter and gold is a must. I love the shimmer and shine, it enhances the magic of this time.

I took the vintag picture, matted it with red cardstock and golden glitter paper. I only let peek out a tiny little bit around the edges. At the bottom I glued a pearl lace for even more shine.

For the background I cut a christmas paper, designed by Astrid Maclean some years ago, to size, distressed the eges with Distress Oxide walnut stain and matted it with the glitterpaper before I glued it onto a card.

Now to my decoration:

I diecut snowflakes and a snowflake edge from white cardstock and toned it down with some Distress Ink antique linen. Now I wanted to go for a frosty look, smeared on top of the snowflake edge some Matte Medium and sprinkled on top of it crystal snow (I don´t know how it is called exactly). I thought, the edge will be seen on both sides, so I will treat the back equal. Not not my best idea! It got too heavy weight, it folded down. So I ripped off the biggest snowflake and added a smaller one, I added the glitter with a wink of stella brush pen. Way better!
The diecut snowflakes I treated the same way, but I glittered them only with the glitter brush pen.

I glued some fabric under the picture and framed the angel with snowflakes and some little snowballs, made of styrofoam balls, coated with fake snow.

A while ago I bought some flower dies for small flowers and made some poinsettias. One of them I used for my card.

To embed the poinsettia I diecut some twigs from the Tim Holtz Holiday Greens Thinlits die cut set and toned them down with Distress Oxides walnut stain. Some feathers and snowballs completed the arrangement.

The German text stamp says: "The magic of christmas" and was stamped with DO walnut stain too.

Artist Trading Coins II for Country View Challenges

Hello everybody!

We have a wonderful theme this month at Country View Challenges, chosen by the lovely Debs - Artist Traiding Coins!

These little cuties are really addictive, they are so versatile to create and really fun. If you didn´t try to make some of them, you really should! And if you do some, why not link the result of your play to our challenge? We really would love to see them, and you have the chance to win a 20 £ voucher to spend in the shop!

And this is how I made them:

Recently I found a recipe on how to make your own Gelli plate - so I gave it a try and once the home made plate was ready to use, I had a play.

This paper is the ghost print of a page and I loved the look of it.

I cut out some coins (2 1/2" diameter), glued them on some cardboard to make them sturdier and distressed them with some Distress Oxides in walnut stain.



I used the new Visible Image Stamps "you are not alone", which you can find in the shop here, and stamped the hands on specialty stamping paper with Archival Ink in Jet Black. When dry, I colored them with Faber Castell Polycromos, fuzzy cut them.
Next I took another stamp set from Visible Image called "Ahead of our time", which you can also find in the shop here. I took the stamp platform and stamped the little girl and man on specialty stamping paper. I stamped two times with Archival Ink Jet Black to make sure, the little figures are really black inked. When dry I fuzzy cut them too.

Now I arranged the pieces on my ATCoins, surrounded the little figures with a white Gelpen and added words from Tim Holtz´s Small Talk Stickers. On the back of the coins I glued some light weight brown cardstock and framed them on the edges with a black brush marker.

Artist Trading Coins for Country View Challenges

Hello dear visitors and a special welcome to my 100th follower! I am very happy to see you here!

November already and time for a new challenge over at Country View Challenges.

This month the theme is: Artist Trading Coins!

I love to make this little treasure coins, they are so cute and a great opportunity to use your scraps or parts of a not very well accomplished backgroundpaper.

Here are my ATCoins:

And this is what I did:

I used this paper, on which I cleaned my brayer 

and tried some new stamps.

Well - never throw away something! 😉

I punched out some 2 1/2" circles.

I matted them with cardboard to make them sturdier....

sealed the surface with transparent Gesso...

 on some parts I brushed crackle glaze for more interest.

 I took some stencils and Distress Oxides in matching colors to add some texture, ...

 and framed the coins with black soot Distress Oxide.

 I wanted to have some white space, so I took white acrylic paint and spreaded it with my fingers.

 I tinted tiny distressed pieces of cloth, ...

...gathered some small and tiny flowers...

and glued them down

Next I mixed Mini Art Stones with golden splash paint and added some white glue before I decorated the coins.

Now I sprinkled some glitter on top and when everything was dry, I added word stickers and some white highlights with a gelpen here and there.

Last step was to glue some scrap paer in black to the back and stamp the date.

Well, I fear I have overdone them a little bit - but, it is what it is.

Autumn ATCs for Country View Challenges

Hello and welcome to my second post for the October Challenge "Plantastic" at Country View Challenges, hosted by my lovely fellow team Rachel!

The wonderful weather here keeps staying and the leaves are turning into an autumnal rainbow.

Inspired by nature´s wonder, I grabbed my fall foliage dies and diecut a whole bunch of lieaves. I colored thme with watercolors and made  a set of Autumn ATCs.

Autumnal Card for Country View Challenges

Hello and welcome to the colorful month of October!

My lovely teammate Rachel hostes the theme for the challenge at Country View Challenges this month and she wants us to make something plantastic.

Here is my card.

I made this card for a couple, how move away from here as a farewell. What better would fit, than an autumnal theme with nearly empty trees and falling leaves!

First pages of the travel journal - for Country View Challenges

Hello, I´m back again!

My daughter and I had a wonderful time while travelling through the USA and Canada.

Here are the first pages, where I wrote in our everyday destinations.

I used some papers from a Tim Holtz paper pad, covered some parts with white Gesso and stamped an old automobile on top. I cut out a part of a map with the parts of America and Canada and glued it onto the page. For the flap, I glued a stripe of watercolor paper on one side, stamped the dates and added the cities beside.
