Diesen Monat haben wir wieder einen tollen Künstler für euch, William Rose, und das ist eins seiner Bilder: An image of November

Wenn ihr auf dem Blog vorbeischaut, könnt ihr ein wenig mehr über ihn erfahren.

Aber nun zur Herausforderung. Diesmal müsst ihr eine Schablone benutzen! Einfach, was?

Today it is the first of March - time for a new challenge over at ARTastic!

This month we have a wonderful artist for you, William Rose, and this is one of his pictures: An image of November.

But now let´s come to our challenge. We ask you to use a stencil! Easy, huh?

So grab your stash and join in our challenge!

Hier ist mein layout:

This is my layout. 

Die Linien im Bild des Künstlers haben mich inspiriert. Also klebte ich zuerst einige Papierstreifen auf den Hintergrund und benutzte anschließend eine Schablone von 13arts, "shapes", um mit Modelliercreme weitere Linien zu schaffen. Danach habe ich den Hintergrund bestempelt - viele Stempel ;-). Danach kam Farbe ins Spiel (Lindy´s Stamp Gang Flat Fabios und Starburst). Danach noch einmal der Einnstatz von Schablonen, zwei ganz neue von Tim Holtz (Trellis Layering Stencil and Floral Layering Stencil), einmal mit Distress Ink und die andere mit weißem Gesso. Nun war der Mittelpunkt dran. Ich finde die Arbeiten von Monika Huculack ganz toll, so habe ich versucht mich ein wenig an ihrem Stil zu orientieren. Damit das Ganze noch ein wenig Schimmer bekommt, habe ich noch Inka Gold in gold und lila, etwas Goldflitter und Goldfaden hinzugefügt. Auch einige Metallverzierungen durften nicht fehlen. Zum Schluß noch ein paar Blümchen, eine Metallplakette und den Wortstreifen aufkleben, das wars.

I wanted to create some lines, inspired by the lines from the reference picture. So first I glued a couple of paperstripes to the background and used a stencil called "shapes" from 13arts and modeling paste. Then I did some stamping - a lot of stamping ;-). Then I added color (Lindy´s Stamp Gang flat fabios and Starburst sprays) and did some more stencilling with two of the brand new Tim Holtz stencils (TRELLIS and FLORAL) with DI and white Gesso. Now I built the vocal point, As I love the work of Monika Huculack, I tried to create my layout layering a bit like she does. For some brightness I painted some Inka Gold in gold and purple, added some golden threat, some gold flitter and metal embellishments. At last I added some small flowers, a metal planque and a word stripe.

Es gibt so viele wunderbare Techniken, die Tim uns gezeigt hat und wir nutzen sie oft in unseren Kunstwerken, so dass es gar nicht einfach ist, auszuwählen, welche davon wir nehmen sollen ;-)

There are so many wonderful techniques he showed us and we use so many times in our artwork, so it was not easy to make a choice, which one to take and make ;-).

Ich habe mich dazu entschlossen, mal wieder etwas mit Alcohol Inks zu machen. Ich habe sie schon ganz lange nicht mehr verwendet, und so ist jetzt eine gute Gelegenheit, sie mal wieder auszumotten und ein wenig damit zu spielen =)
I decided to use my alcohol inks, I didn´t use them for a long time, so it was a good opportunity to grab them out and have a play =)

Auf Tim´s Blog habe ich dieses tolle Tutorial gefunden  hier.
Ich wollte allerdings kein Tag machen, sondern habe mich für eine Karte entschieden.
Ich habe alle Schritte für den Hintergrund nachgemacht, nur hatte ich diese Folie nicht. Also habe ich einfach ein paar Schmetterlinge StazOn black auf Schrumpffolie gestempelt, sie geschrumpft und so aufgeklebt.
I went to Tim´s blog and found a beautiful tutorial here.

I didn´t want to make a tag and decided to make a card.
I followed all the steps for the background, but I didn´t have that foil, so I used some shrink foil, stamped the butterflies with StazOn Ink in black and shrinked them.

And this is my interpretation:

Quick Tag - DT-Work for Country View Challenges

Hallo zusammen, schön, dass ihr bei mir vorbeischaut! 

Hier ist mein zweiter Beitrag zu unserer Februar Challenge "30 Minuten oder darunter" bei Country View Challenges. Meine Herren, das ist wirklich eine schwierige Sache, das mit der kurzen Zeit! Das Tag, das ich gemacht habe, ist mein dritter Versuch, etwas ansprechendes innerhalb dieser Zeit zu machen.

This is my second post for the February Challenge "30 minutes or under" over at Country View Challenges. Boy, this is a very hard challenge for me! The tag I made is the 3rd trial to make something pretty in time!

Hier seht ihr, wie ich´s gemacht habe. Wichtig, um es in der entsprechenden Zeit zu schaffen war, alle Sachen, die ich verwenden wollte, bereit zu legen, bevor ich auf den Startknopf gedrückt habe. 

Here you can see, how I made it. Important was, to gather all things, I needed for it, before I pushed the button.

Zuerst habe ich den Hintergrund mit Distress Inks in weathered wood, seedless preserve, tumbled glass und wild honey gestaltet. Die Technik kennt ihr sicher alle: Stempelkissen auf der non-sticky- back Unterlage nebeneinander auftragen, etwas Wasser darauf sprühen und das Tag durchziehen. Trocknen und so oft wiederholen, bis ihr mit dem Ergebnis zufrieden seid.

First I created the background with Distress Inks in weathered wood, seedless preserve, tumbled glass und wild honey. The technique is well known I think: scrub your inkpads over the non-sticky-pad, spray some water on top and put your tag on top. Dry it and repeat the process until you are happy with the result. 

Als nächstes habe ich eine dünne Schicht Distress Stain picket fence darüber gegeben um einen ausgebleichten Look zu kreieren.

Next I put a thin layer Distress Stain picket fence on top to create a faded look.

Nun noch schnell die Ränder mit tumbled glass einfärben und mit einer meiner Lieblingsschablonen von Tim Holtz, Latticework, die Oberfläche gestalten. Dazu habe ich DI vintage photo benutzt.

Now a quick coloring of the edges with DI tumbled glass and then a layer with one of my most beloved stencils from Tim Holtz, Latticework on top. I took DI vintage photo.

Als nächstes noch schnell ein paar RubOns von 7gypsies....

Next step was a quick add of 7gypsies RubOns.....

....dann konnte ich schon mit der Ausgestaltung beginnen. Dazu habe ich mir ein Bildchen (photobooth, Tim Holtz) ausgesucht, auf Karton montiert, ein kleines Zierdeckchen halbiert, ein wenig mit DI eingefärbt und aufgeklebt, ein Stück Schnur drapiert und mit eingefärbten Blättchen und einer Blüte alles arrangiert und montiert.

.....then I was ready to design my tag. I mounted one of the pics from photobooth (Tim Holtz) on cardboard, cut a doily in half, colored it with DI, wrapped a piece of cord around and arranged and mounted the pic, some colored leaves and a blossom on top.

Jetzt nur noch die passenden Wörter (Tim Holtz, big chat) ein wenig einfärben und aufkleben.

Now I only had to add some suitable words (Tim Holtz, big chat), which I colored at the edges.

Ich hatte tatsächlich noch knapp 5 Minuten übrig, also habe ich noch schnell ein paar Hintergrundstempel herausgesucht und mit Archival Ink Jet Black hier und da aufgestempelt.

Now there where even 5 minutes left, so I took some background stamps and so I randomly stamped  the background with Archival Ink Jet Black.

Die Wörter habe ich mit einem wasservermalbaren Stift schwarz umrandet, damit sie etwas mehr abstechen. Und damit war ich fertig - genau 30 Minuten ......puh!

I surrounded the words with a water soluble pencil to make them pop out more and that´s it! Exactly 30 minutes .......pew!

"Winter" - Layout for the February Challenge over at Canvas Corp Brands

it´s time for a new challenge over at Canvas Corp Brands!

This year we have a "real" winter here in Germany! The last few years we only had some days with snow, but this year we have snow and very low temperatures to - 20° for weeks now! So the moodboard is fitting perfect =)



I made a layout, inspired by the wintery scenes and the teal colors.

Layout "Fabulous"

Hello all,

it´s the first of February and time for a new challenge at ARTastic challenge blog!

This is the inspiration picture, the artist is Karen Pierce. If you want to know more about her, please read it on the blog. Take your inspiration from the picture, may be the colors, the flowers, the horse, what ever you want! The only criteria is to use butterflies or any other insect on your project.

Here is my layout:

I was inspired by the colors and the easiness of the picture. I thought, the romantic photo of my daughter would be perfect for it!

Male Card made in 30 Minutes

Hello all, nice to have you here!

It´s the first day of February and that means: Time for a new challenge over at Country View Challenges!

This month the theme is a hard one - well, not for everybody, but for me it is ;-):

30 minutes or less time challenge

It is hosted by my lovely team mate Sue.

I decided to make a card for a man. I also made a video, unfortunately you can´t see the stopwatch all the time and my camera stopped before I ended and I didn´t recognize it in my rush. But I promise, I got ready exactly in time!
