Steampunk Fantasy Card

Hello all, it´s a very busy time here at the moment, the school year is nearly at it´s end, holidays are in sight and many, many little things are to do and to finish.
As I am the birthday card maker for all collegues at our school and also asked, when there is something to alter or decorate for a gift, I have to do much right now.
Today I want to show you one of the cards I made for a collegue (sorry, the photo is not the very best):

Over at Country View Challenge we have this month the challenge theme: circles. This is my second piece for it.
And what could be better fitting there than steampunk wheels, manometer and gears!
I used a set of papers and embellishments from LaBlanche and another set called fantasy, which includes gorgeous images. One I used here.
Here are some close ups:

Here you can see some of the gears and a manometer - so cool!
Here I used a circle metal embellishment - you can find circles nearly everywhere! ;-)
for the background I used a stencil from Tim Holtz (one of my favourites) with DI in rusty hinge, then I randomly rubbed slitely some golden Inka gold. I splattered some gesso and black gesso for more interest (circles too =) )
The circle framed numbers are adorable! I love this set!

That´s it for today, I´ll show you more of my latest creations next time, so stay tuned!

Don´t forget to fly - A Tag for Country View Challenges

Hello all, nice to have you here on my blog!
It´s July already and for the new challenge over at Country View Challenges "Fun with Circles", chosen by the lovely team mate Hazel. It´s a great challenge theme, there are nearly endless possibilities for interpretation! You can find circle shapes in so many things, I´m sure, you agree!

I made a summery little tag with shiny butterflies and bright colors.

A while ago I saw a tag, the talented Kasia Bogato at ColourArte made and I liked it very much, so I was inspired to create one a bit similar to hers.

I first sprayed my tag with water, then I used several colors from my Ecoline liquid water colors, which I sprincled to the wet tag and allowed them to mix a little bit. The same I did on some leftover cardstock.
When everything was dry I radomly stamped the circles from Finnabairs stampset "Don´t forget to fly" all over the tag.

The butterflies I stamped on the colored cardstock and fuzzy cut them and added stickles around the edges for some bling. Two of them I glued together, but only in the middle, so I was able to shape the wings. To mat them I used  some ripped out corrugated cardboard, which I colored with DI walnut stain. Under the butterfly I glued pieces of babywipe I plucked apart. On one edge I added a little circle brad for more interest.

The stamped circles I highlighted with some white acrylic marker to make them stand out more. The edges of my tag I distressed with DI walnut stain to get a frame.

I diecut some cardstock with one of the Sizzix mixed media dies from Tim Holtz and colored them with DI walnut stain again, then I glued the pieces at the edges of the tag here and there.

Before putting everything together, I sprized some white Gesso all over my tag, and when dry I glued down the matted butterfly, the stamped sentiment and some single butterflies. Then I put a ribbon through the hole on top and added a circle brad - and that´s it!

Now I hope you liked my tag and may be you´ll find time to play with us at the challenge "circles" over at Country View Challenges this month!
Thank you for your visit and have a nice day!
