Art Journal Page "Hope" with Shawn Petite Stencils

Hello my friends!
I want to share a new art journal page with you. I used the new Shawn Petite Christmas Berries and Evergreens stencil and the Shawn Petite Fave Words 2 stencil.

I started with the leftover pieces from my last project for the Shawn Petite Creative Team, you can find everything about it here from the vintage wallpaper 3 and shabby wood and glued them down with matte medium.

I then added Gesso and different colors. The candle with it´s candle stand I drew by myself, but you can find a lovely stencil on Shawn Petit´s shop here. I painted everything with acrylic paints.
Then I stenciled the greenery with a mix of greens and brown and set some highlights and shadows, using Gesso and paints with a paintbrush. Then I surrounded the leaves with a charcoal pencil. At last I stenciled the word Hope onto a tissue paper and adhered it with matte medium.

That´s it for today.
Now I wish you a Merry Christmas and have a wonderful time!

Hello and welcome back to my blog today!

Well, I must be really in a christmas mood, because my figure looks like an Angel *lol*

So this is what I did (I only will share the steps in photos this time):

This tag I had in my stash from a Gelli print session. I thought - it´s perfect!

Stars! Christmas Card for Country View Challenges

Hello everyone, nice to have you here today!
It´s the first of December and that means - a new challenge over at Country View Challenges!
This month I am the host of the challenge and I want to see "stars" on your projects!
This can be on christmas cards, as a background, stars in heaven, or - you think outside the box and find some celebrities?

For my first project I have chosen to make a little christmas card, this time not traditional, but modern and colorful.

It is very hard to take a good photo, because the gold on it is so very shiny, look!

This is what I did:
I used the wrinkle free technique. I put DO picked raspberry and mermaid lagoon on my crafting mat and sprayed them with water. Then I dipped my paper on it and dried it with my heating tool.
I spread some DecoArt Extreme Sheen 24K Gold with a brayer on top...

and stamped the stars from the Rubber Dance Grungy Stuff stamp set with the same paint on white cardstock. Make sure to clean your stamp immediately, otherwise you can ruin it!
When the paint was dry, I fuzzy cut them and glued them, after I darkened the edges, to my card.

I stamped and embossed the Merry Christmas and added some stars with awhite Posca pen. The edges are stamped with one of the borders from the Rubber Dance Doodle Borders #1 stamp set and distressed the edges with DI black soot. Then I glued the paper to a card.

I hope you will make something with stars for the challenge too!
Thank you for your visit today! See you in a few days with my second project!

Two Christmas Cards - Easy but Elegant for Country View Challenges

Hello everyone, nice to have you here today!

Christmas comes in sight, so I decided to make a couple of christmas cards for my second post at Country View Challenges. The challenge theme this month is Hand Stamped, which means the vocal point must be stamped, not only the background or some parts of the project.

I was inspired by the gorgeous Blanche Siegmann. You can find her christmas card samples on her blog or on YouTube.

I used the beautiful stamp set from PaperArtsy Eclectica³ by Scrapcosy ESC07. It is available in the shop.

If you want to see how I put these cards together, you can watch my process video on my YouTube channel here.

Thank you for your visit today and don´t forget to play with our challenge! You know, you can win a 20£ voucher to spend in the shop!

Have a wonderful week!

Welcome Fall - Art Journal Page with Shawn Petite stencils

Hello all,
November already and before I will jump into the christmas projects, I want to share a art journal page I did with Shawn Petite´s new Fall stencils.

I love these stencils very much!
This is what I did:

I started with old book pages and matte medium. I glued big pieces to my whole page, dried it and gave the page a light wash with white  Gesso.

Then I stenciled the leaves with different colors, yellow, orange, red, violet, green and brown, with Archival Inks through the Fall Leaves with Masks stencil.
After this I used three different pumpkins from the Pumpkins Variety stencil and stenciled them first with white Gesso on the page. After they were dry, I painted them with acrylic paints, shaded the pumpkins and the leaves with black charcoal,
Last but not least I stenciled the words from the Fall Words 1 stencil to the page and darkened the edges with a black crayon.

now I hope you like my journal page!
Have a lovely weekend!

Real Gentlemen - Card for Country View Challenges

Hello everybody, nice to have you here today!

For the November challenge at Country View Challenges I made a card for a man. The theme this month, hosted by my lovely team mate Christine, is Hand Stamped, the vocal image must be stamped, no digital stamps are allowed.

I went through my stamps (well, there are a few 😋😎) and found this stunning gentlemen from PaperArtsy! I really love this stamp, although it is not easy to get a good, crisp print (the stamping platform is enormously helpful!)

This is what I did:

For my background I used a gear stencil and soft matte gel. When the gel has dried, I colored the page with acrylic paints in teal and brown and used antiquing paint. To grunge it up I scrubbed antique paste over parts of the surface, used DI ground espresso here and there and to color the distressed edges. Lastly I highlighted the stenciled gears with golden wax paste.
For even more interest I randomly stamped with brown Archival Ink a script stamp and a postal stamp, both are from PaperArtsy, on top.

My main image I stamped several times with Versafine clair in nocturne and pinecone, colored the faces with DI antique line and colored the background with DI tea dye and darkened the edges with DI ground espresso. Then I put it on a thick piece of cardboard.

I I matted the picture with a distressed piece of cheesecloth, added some diecut, painted gears, a clockface, a flower and some paper rolls. Then I adhered it to a card and lastly I added two metal knobs.

Now I hope, you grab your stamps too and join in with our challenge this month! You know, you can win a 20£ voucher for the shop!

Thank you for your visit today and happy November!

Happy Halloween with Shawn Petite Stencils!

Hello and happy Halloween all!

well, you may know, I am not the Halloween lover, but some supplies are great. So I took one of the new Fall stencils from Shawn Petite, called "Fall Leaves with Masks" and made a Halloween art journal page in my new journal for my time as a Shawn Petite Creative Team Member.

I will show you some steps, how I made this page:

I grabbed some DecoArt acrylic paints in autumnly colors and created the background.
I spreat the colors randomly over the page.

I took my paint markers and added pattern all over the page, just doodling!

When this was done, I took the Seth Apter designed PaperArtsy stamps and stamped patterns with VersaFine clair Morning Mist. This is what the page looked like when I was ready.

Time for using the leave masks! I positioned the masks on the page and painted the space around them with brown acrylic paint. It needed 2 coats to cover the background. After that I used a white posca pen to surround the leaves and doodled around the edges.

Now I only had to add some spiderweb decoration behind the paper dolls, glue them down and add a little felt pumpkin. I took a funny quote from Tim Holtz, which says:"When the broom fits, ride it!"
Lol.

Here are some close ups from the leaves:

I hope you like my little Halloween page!
I wish you a creepy evening!
Thank you for your visit!
