Once Upon A Time....

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday!

For my second project for the "Vintage" challenge at Country View Challenges  I made a page in my little art pad.

It´s a quick and simple page, because I am in the middle of chaos at home. I renovate my floors and I have to put all furnitures from one room to the other. And being in the flow, I renew some of my cupboards (sand them and paint new), paint the walls etc......
Well, time for crafting and being on social medias is rare you can imagine!
Therefor it will be a short post.

This is what I did:
I brushed vintage photo DI over the page, sprinkled water on top and let it dry. Then I stamped with Archival ink coffee the first Tiny prints stamps from Tim Holtz randomly to the background and then the second one with Archival ink sepia randomly on top.
I stapeled some paper pieces from my stash together after I distressed the edges with vintage photo.
I glued them down with foam tape and glued a picture from the Vintage Photobooth pad from Finnabair as a focal point to the cluster. I stamped the words with black Archival ink directly onto the page and last I tied a little bow with a yarn and a silver string. I took a cap from a bottle and made some rings with DI evergreen bough to finish the page - That´s it!

That´s it from here for now.
I hope, you will join in with our challenge this month, there is enough time left to make something vintage. You know, you have the chance to win a 20 £ voucher for the shop!

Thank you for your visit today!

Ballet de Paris

Hello all, happy first of May!

As always at the first of the month, it´s time for a new challenge at Country View Challenges.

This month the theme is: "We will always have Paris".

I made a card with vintage french themed papers.

I made it quite simple, cut out the papers, distressed the edges, colored the edges with vintage phote Distress Ink, layered the scraps, added some cloth, diecuts and homemade flowers - that´s it!

Here are some close ups:

I hope you liked it and feel inspired to make something for our challenge! You know, you can win a voucher for the shop!

Thank you for your visit and have sunny days!

A Vintage Christmas Card

Hello dear visitor, a warm welcome to my blog!
First of December and only 3 weeks until it´s christmas! It´s christmas time at Country View Challenges too, we want to see your christmas makes this month.

I made a card with this wonderful vintage angel I had in my stash.

For me at christmas time glitter and gold is a must. I love the shimmer and shine, it enhances the magic of this time.
I took the vintag picture, matted it with red cardstock and golden glitter paper. I only let peek out a tiny little bit around the edges. At the bottom I glued a pearl lace for even more shine.

For the background I cut a christmas paper, designed by Astrid Maclean some years ago, to size, distressed the eges with Distress Oxide walnut stain and matted it with the glitterpaper before I glued it onto a card.
Now to my decoration:
I diecut snowflakes and a snowflake edge from white cardstock and toned it down with some Distress Ink antique linen. Now I wanted to go for a frosty look, smeared on top of the snowflake edge some Matte Medium and sprinkled on top of it crystal snow (I don´t know how it is called exactly). I thought, the edge will be seen on both sides, so I will treat the back equal. Not not my best idea! It got too heavy weight, it folded down. So I ripped off the biggest snowflake and added a smaller one, I added the glitter with a wink of stella brush pen. Way better!
The diecut snowflakes I treated the same way, but I glittered them only with the glitter brush pen.

I glued some fabric under the picture and framed the angel with snowflakes and some little snowballs, made of styrofoam balls, coated with fake snow.

A while ago I bought some flower dies for small flowers and made some poinsettias. One of them I used for my card.

To embed the poinsettia I diecut some twigs from the Tim Holtz Holiday Greens Thinlits die cut set and toned them down with Distress Oxides walnut stain. Some feathers and snowballs completed the arrangement.
The German text stamp says: "The magic of christmas" and was stamped with DO walnut stain too.

I hope you like my little card as much as I do and I´m looking forward to seeing your christmas themed pieces of art!
Thank you for your visit today - and don´t forget to hop to the blog and see more of the wonderful makes of my lovely team mates!

Celebrate the Season! - DT-Project for Country View Challenges

Hello dear Blogfriends, welcome to my blog today!
The countdown is running - only 24 days left to Christmas.
But it´s also the first of the month, what means: a new challenge over at Country View Challenges.
This time the lovely Debs is hosting the theme:  "Christmas Theme, Reds, Greens & (optional) Rust"

I made a very vintage card in red and green.

And this is what I did:

First I chose a nice patterned background paper and a fitting image. The background paper I distressed at the edges with a knife, colored the edges with green Archival ink and DO frayed burlap. Then I glued it down on top of a card.
I fuzzy cut the image and distressed the edges again with DO frayed burlap.
I matted the image with green cardstock, added some cardboard at the back and glued it onto the card.
Now I took some chipboard pieces and painted them with white Gesso,
colored them with Archival Ink Library Green
and heat embossed the pieces with two different green embossing powders.
Then I put them around the image, added some liquid pearls in red and glued down some flowers.
Now I stamped a seasonal stamp and embossed it with the same green embossing powder as I used on the chipboard pieces.

To make the sentiment fit better, I used again DO frayed burlap and drippled some water on top for even more interest.
I glued it down with foam squares,
and lastly I added some white splatters with watered down Gesso.

Here are some close ups:

Well, that´s it for today, I´ll be back at the 5th of December with my second inspiration, I hope to see you here again!
Now I hope you will find time to join in with our challenge this month, as usual you have the chance to win a 20 £ voucher for the shop!

Thank you for your visit and try to have a not too busy time!

Altered stand - DT work for ARTastic

Hello all,
for my second post today I want to show you my take on the ARTastic June challenge. This time I made an altered stand.
The beautiful picture for inspiration this month is from Ethel Spowers - The Kite and the
CRITERIA - VINTAGE style OR featuring CHILDREN (or for an extra challenge combine both).
Well, I combinde both and the muted colors are good for some extra inspiration =).

This is what I did:

I bought this little stand in a dollar store. It was a little bit broken and I only payed 0,10€, what means nearly nothing!

I sanded the broken edges and painted them with white acrylic paint. Then I only covered the whole piece with some iridecent pearl acrylic paint in green/gold from pentart - it gives an amazing shimmer! Then I added some Lasur gel to tone it down a little bit and to add a vintage look.
For the decoration I matted a vintage picture and framed it. I glued down some small branches, some chipboards, fibres, moss and small flowers for embellishing - that´s all!
I hope, you like it as much as I do =)

I´m looking forward to seeing your beautiful creations for our challenge over at ARTastic challenges this month! There is also a prize to win, so don´t miss joining in with!

Card with Hearts - DT-project for Country View June Challenge!

Hello my friends, I hope you´re all doing well!
The first project for our new challenge at Country View Challenges with the theme "Hearts" I made this card.

I covered a white card with some elder Magnolia paper and rounded the edges with a punching tool.
Now I drew a smaller and a bigger heart (fold the paper and draw only a half one then cut it out) and used it as a stencil .

The edges I distressed with DI walnut stain to make them stand out a little bit more.
Now I glued all the hearts down.....
Danach alle Herzen aufkleben.....
add a focal point and a stamped sentiment and decorate with some embellishments - ready!
Here are some close ups:
Hier noch ein paar Nahaufnahmen:

Now I hope, you will find some time to play with us at Country View Challenges this month! So take  heart (lol) and make something beautiful. You have the chance to win a 20£ gift voucher for the shop.

Layout "Special Moment" - DT-Work for ARTastic

Einfach, was?
Also versucht doch mal euer Glück und macht mit!

Hello everybody and a warm welcome to my blog!
Today it is the first of March - time for a new challenge over at ARTastic!
This month we have a wonderful artist for you, William Rose, and this is one of his pictures: An image of November.
If you want to find out more about him and his artwork, hop over to the blog.
But now let´s come to our challenge. We ask you to use a stencil! Easy, huh?
So grab your stash and join in our challenge!

Hier ist mein layout:
This is my layout.

I wanted to create some lines, inspired by the lines from the reference picture. So first I glued a couple of paperstripes to the background and used a stencil called "shapes" from 13arts and modeling paste. Then I did some stamping - a lot of stamping ;-). Then I added color (Lindy´s Stamp Gang flat fabios and Starburst sprays) and did some more stencilling with two of the brand new Tim Holtz stencils (TRELLIS and FLORAL) with DI and white Gesso. Now I built the vocal point, As I love the work of Monika Huculack, I tried to create my layout layering a bit like she does. For some brightness I painted some Inka Gold in gold and purple, added some golden threat, some gold flitter and metal embellishments. At last I added some small flowers, a metal planque and a word stripe.
