Halloween Canvas

 Hello and welcome to October!

For the October Challenge at Country View Challenges "Halloween or Harvest" I made a Halloween Canvas.

I used one of the gorgeous Tim Holtz  papers from the Abandoned paper pad he launched a view years ago. I didn´t use them before, because I wanted to keep them. Crazy, I know.

I also used some Halloween themed diecuts and papers from a paper set from LaBlanche from 2015.

I took a canvas, painted the edges with black Gesso and glued the paper, which I distressed, on top. Then I prepared the picture for the focal point. I matted it on a piece of black cardstock and gave it a coat of high gloss varnish and left it to dry.

I prepared the diecut pieces, rounded them with a modeling tool and then I assembled the layout. I used a piece of Halloween net, the diecuts and some flowers. At last I sprinkled black and white paint to finish.

Good for the Creative Soul - Layout for Canvas Corp Brands

Hello dear visitors, 

today I want to share with you my latest layout I made for the Crew Challenge at Canvas Corp Brands.

We were supposed to use the "Compose Your Life" paper range, designed by Aga Baraniak.

I used one of the gorgeous old family photos of a friend (thank you Maja!), some Tattered Angels Glimmer- and Baseboard Mists, some chipboards, lace and flowers and of course the fabulous papers.

Black and White + One - DT - LO for ARTastic

Hello dear friends,

here is my layout for the ARTastic challenge this month. 

We have the fabulous artwork from  Joshua Miels this month for your inspiration. To find out more about him, please hop over to the blog. 

For the challenge this month we want you to use Black and White PLUS One (any colour)!

Here is my take:

And this is what I did:

 First I gathered the photo, I wanted to use, and some papers from my stash - well, I didn´t use the right one and instead of the black one I took two tags from my stash. 

Zuerst habe ich mir meine Papiere und das Photo, das ich verwenden wollte zusammengesucht - na gut, ich habe das rechte nicht benutzt und statt des schwarzen Papiers habe ich zwei Tags verwendet.

 First I layered my photo with some torn paper, the edges I distressed with black Archival Ink. The tags are from some bought clothes (I always keep some of them in my stash. They are sturdy and some of them are really pretty!)

Zuerst habe ich mein Photo mit gerissenen Papierstücken unterlegt. Die Ränder wurden mit schwarzer Archival Ink abgetönt. Die beiden Anhänger sind Schilder von Kleidern, die beim Einkauf dort hängen (ich hebe einige immer auf, oftmals sehen die sehr hübsch aus und sind meist aus stabiler Pappe!)

 Next I stamped and embossed the area round the place I wanted to put the photo later. I used embossing ink and black embossing powder from Lindy´s Stamp Gang.

Als nächstes habe ich rund um das Areal, wo später mein Photo hinkommt, gestempelt und embosssed. Ich habe ein Embossing Stempelkissen mit schwarzem Embossingpulver (LSG) verwendet.

 Now some "Bling" =)

Dann ein wenig Glitzer =)

 To imitate the scribbly effect from the artwork a little bit, I did some more stamping.

Um den "Kritzeleffekt" des Kunstwerks ein wenig nachzuempfinden habe ich noch etwas mehr gestempelt.

 Now I added only a hint of color here and there and glued down my words and the acetate butterfly - and that´s it!

Danach habe ich noch ein klein wenig Farbe hier und dort ergänzt und die Wortsticker und den Folienschmetterling aufgeklebt - und das wars!

Flower Layout - DT work for ARTastic

May is the month of flowers, weddings and mothers day, so our challenge over at ARTastic want you to make something with flowers!

Layout "Art" - DT Project for ARTastic

Hello all, 

it´s the first of April and there is a new challenge at ARTastic!

For your inspiration there is a painting from Kenneth MacQueen - Wild Poppies.

If you want to know more about the artist, hop over to the blog, there you´ll find interesting informations!

Now to our challenge. You can use the picture as an inpiration, may be the watercoloring, maybe the shades of grey, the flowers - whatever you like.

The only requested criteria is:  POPS OF RED on your page

This is my take on the challenge:

I was inspired by the watercoloring. I took a photo from my stash, I wanted to use for ages. Now it was the perfect one for the challenge!

I glued paper stripes on a cardstock and painted the surface with white Gesso. Then I placed the photo and drew a face matching to the eye.

I fixed the pencil drawing with some fixative spray.

Now I took some of my ecoline liquid watercolors and painted the face. Then I matted the photo and glued it down.

I took some flower stamps from PaperArtsy, stamped them with Distress Ink in weathered wood and colored them with Pastel pencils. I wrote the word "Art" with a black water soluble pencil and activated it with some water.

 I shaded the edges with Distress Ink black soot.

I decided, to leave the layout as it is and didn´t use any embellishments.
