DIY Cover for a Changeable Calendar

Hello dear visitors, welcome to my blog!

Here in my district in Bavaria we drown in snow at the moment, even the schools are closed! And it still keeps on snowing!

So I use the spare time for writing this post.

The last years I used to pimp up a calender for my mother and she always loved them. But she said, that it is always a pity to throw it away after one year!

Then I discovered a changeable calendar called MODUS XL, fitting to the needs of my mother, and I decided to make a reuseble cover for it!

Here is what I did:

In the Summer Garden - DT Project for Country View Challenges

Hello and welcome to July!

Summer is here and this time we want to look in your garden.

My lovely teamy Jane hostes the challenge over at Country View Challenges this month and it is called `In the Summer Garden´.

Artistic Trading Coins become more and more popular and I thought, it would be nice to hop on this train too and make a set of them for the challenge - and I loved to make them!
Here are my Summer Garden ATCoins I called Bugs.

I adhered them onto cardboard when they were ready to make them a little bit sturdier.

Canvas "Music" for the CCB January Crew Challenge

Hello everybody, a warm welcome to my blog!

This time I have a canvas to share with you. I made it for the Canvas Corp Brands Crew Challenge.

This is what we cooked up:

*Your inspiration is MUSIC
* Your project can be anything connected to music - make a instument, art journal, book cover, layout about your fav singer, or be inspired by a record cover. The imagination is your limits there.

*Use any technique/material you want but it must be 75% CCB products

Here is my submission:

For the story, that tells this canvas I have to go a little bit further to explain.

In my church community in Kochel am See we have a wonderful little church, which became 100 years old in 2014.

On christmas in 2013 the organ in the church broke down and we needed a new one - which is very expensive you can imagine. We collected donations - and, how exciting, last year we could buy a new organ! The inauguration was at the first Advent 2017, and Oh! How incredibly gorgeous the new organ sounds!

The old organ was dismantled and we decided to sell the old organ pipes, the proceeds are for our church.
Well, I took some of them, having in mind to do something beautiful with them - and this is the result!

Here is what I did:

First I gathered some of the organ pipes, a picture from our little church and some of my CCB goodies (well, I didn´t use them all, but nearly).








I primed the organ pipes with white Gesso to get some grip for the paint. Then I took 

Glimmer Glaze Paint - Saffron and painted them several times until I was satisfied.  

After this I gave them a random coat with metalic wax and polished them.





I took a canvas, some old music sheets and one of the gorgeous Mixed Media Origins - Hoot .
I thought, I would use paper from the Achitextures paper pad, but I didn´t.



I tore the papers and glued them down onto the canvas using Matte Medium.

I added the distressed photo of our little church and glued it down too. When dry, I toned everything down with whit Gesso.

Through a stencil I added Texture Paste.

Then I colored the background with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists and Base Board Mist Paint Cardboard.

These GM I used:

Imperial Blue
Dragonfly
Jack Frost
Tattered Leather

With another stencil I added some more color. I sprayed GM Dragonfly and when dry I took DI Peacock feather for a crispier image.

I arranged my organ pipes and glued them down. The biggest one I secured with some wire additionally.

Now I mixed Art Stones and Mini Art Stones with Matte Medium and High Impact Paint Light Gold and Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam Turquoise and put it beside the pipes for more interest.













When everything was dry I added some colored flowers, some leaves, did some stamping, added some Gold here and there and dry brushed parts with white Gesso. At last I added some specks with white Gesso and I was done.

Travelling Art Journal, #7 - DT Project for Canvas Corp Brands

it´s time to share my page for the Travelling Art Journal at Canvas Corp Brands for August with you!

I struggled with my photos - I took tons of pictures, but the colour of the background is always too white. In "real" it is more beige. 

Hallo zusammen,

heute zeige ich euch meinen August Eintrag im Travelling Art Journal für Canvas Corp Brands!

Bei den Fotos bin ich fast verzweifelt. Ich habe massenhaft Bilder gemacht, der Hintergrund sieht aber auf allen zu weiß aus. In "echt" ist er mehr beige. 

Here some steps on how I made it:

Hier ein paar Schritte wie das Ganze entstanden ist:

 First I glued scraps of old book pages and music notes onto the gessoed page.

zuerst habe ich Papierstücke von einem alten Buch und alte Notenblätter auf die mit Gesso vorbehandelte Seite.

 Now I spreat some Texture sand paste randomly to the surface. Then I cut out the Gypsy Lady from the 7gypsies Gypsy Mixed Media pad.

Dann habe ich Texture Sand Paste hier und da aufgetragen und die hübsche Zigeunerin von dem 7gypsies Gypsy Mixed Media pad ausgeschnitten.

 The beautiful Lady didn´t have legs - so I added a piece of white paper and drew the rest of her by myself =).

Die Hübsche hatte keine Beine - also habe ich ein Stück weißes Papier angeklebt und den restlichen Körper selber gezeichnet =).

 I colored the added body with a water soluble pencil.

Den angestückelten Körper habe ich mit wasserlöslichem Farbstift koloriert.

 Well, the color differed a little bit and I decided to glue some lace onto the cut.

Naja, die Farbe ist ein wenig anders ausgefallen, also habe ich entschieden einfach ein Stück Spitzenborte aufzukleben.

 The lace I dyed with Baseboard Mist "Cardboard".

Die Spitze habe ich mit Baseboard Mist "Cardboard" eingefärbt.

 Now I wanted to tone down the background with some beige acrylic paints and white Gesso.

Nun habe ich den Hintergrund ein wenig mit beiger Acrylfarbe und weißem Gesso abgetönt.

 Now I took some Glimmer Mists, and Simply Sheer Mist and started to paint the background. - Sorry, I didn´t take pictuers meanwhile the process, I was in a flow *lol*.

Mit einigen Glimmer Mists und Simply Sheer Sprühfarben habe ich dann gemalt. - Sorry, ich habe keine Fotos währeddessen, ich war so schön drin *lol*.

 Lastly I glued down the girl and the sentiment, added some shadows, some stencilling, paint splatters and did some stamping with DO walnut stain. With this I also framed the page.

Zuletzt habe ich das Mädchen und den Spruch aufgeklebt, ein paar Schatten und ein paar Farbsprenkel ergänzt, habe mit einer Schablone ein paar Akzente gesetzt und mit DO walnut stain gestempelt. Damit habe ich die Seite auch eingerahmt.

So - here it is! I hope Milo will like it as much as I do.
