It´s Spring! - Card for Country View Challenges

Hello all, a warm welcome!
It´s the first of April and - no joke - there is a new challenge at Country View Challenges!

This month the theme, chosen by my lovely teamy Monika, Spring and/or Easter!

I made a card with a lovely snowdrop fairy

I matted my card with some old cardstock from FabScrabs, I had in my stash, and colored in with Distress Oxide Broken China.

This little fairy is an old stamp from LaBlanche. I stamped her on specialty stamping paper with brown Archival Ink and colored her with my Polychromos from Faber-Castell. Then I fuzzy cut her and glued her down with 3D-Foam Pads for some dimension. I draped some blue thread behind her for some contrast and added some small flowers. To the middle of the flowers I glued glittery metal drops.

I stamped a Birthday wish with blue Archival Ink, cut it out and toned down the background with the same Distress Oxide I used on the card.

Now I only had to sprinkle some black and white splatters and white rings, made with a cup from a spray bottle, for more interest and my card was ready!

That´s it for today!
I hope you will make something springlike or something for Easter and share it with us in our challenge!
Thank you for your visit today!

"The magic of books" - Mixed Media Canvas for Country View Challenges

Hello and happy sunday!
Today I want to share my second project for the challenge at Country View Challenges this month.

I made a Mixed Media canvas called "The Magic of Books". Fitting to the theme this month, Letters and/or Numbers, I wanted to share with you my love for books and reading.
Letters become words, words line up to senteces and fill books. And what magic can happen, if you read a good book! You can travel to foreign places you never have been, you can travel through centuries, taste without eating or drinking, feel without being touched, jump into other person´s lifes. You can laugh and cry, feel touched or scared and so much more - absolutely magical! I love reading!

I made a process video while creating - it´s a little bit longer, so grab a cup of coffee and enjoy watching!

Here are some close ups:

I hope you liked my canvas, I had much fun creating it!
But now it´s your turn to make something with letters and/or numbers for our challenge, I look forward to seeing what you made!
Remember, you can win a 20£ voucher for the shop!

"Little Things" - Notebook Cover for Country View Challenges

Hello dear visitors, welcome to my blog!
Today it´s the first of March - time for a new challenge over at Country View Challenges, and this month it´s my turn to host the challenge! I have chosen the theme: Letters &/or Numbers!
I want to be the letters and/or numbers a little bit prominent on your project.
The possibilities are nearly endless - think of birthday cards, sayings, anniversaries,... -  or simply
use them only for being pretty! 😉
This is what I did here. I altered the cover of a little notebook, decorated with many numbers.

Front:

back:

And this is what I did:
I first covered my little notebook with a layer of crackle medium. After it was dry, I painted it with acrylic paint. To enhence the crackles I rubbed antiquing creme white over the surface and wiped away the excess.
Then I stamped a numbers stamp with black staz on ink, added several numbers with black Gesso through a stencil and rubbed some very old rub-on numbers randomly on top.

The front I decorated with tinted gauze, stamped words and some butterflies, I colored with distress inks. Lastly I distressed the edges of the notebook with some red archival ink - and that´s it!

I hope I could inspire you with my little notebook and you will join in with our challenge this month! As usual you have the chance to win a 20 £ voucher for the shop!
I am curious, what you will share!

Thanks for you visit and have a wonderful weekend!

I want to join in following challenges:
