Heute möchte ich euch ein Umschlag - Layout zeigen, das ich als zweites Projekt für Country View Challenges für das Thema "stencils" gemacht habe.

Today I want to share my envelope - layout with you, I made as my second project for the theme "stencils" at Country View Challenges.

Hier eine kleine Schritt für Schritt Anleitung:
Here a step x step tutorial I made:

Ihr braucht einen DIN A5 Umschlag und einen passenden Karton, der zum Schluss zur Stabilisation in den Umschlag gesteckt wird.
You need an envelope and a fitting cardboard, which you stuck into the envelope at the end to stabilize the layout.

Zuerst wird der Umschlag mit Clear Gesso eingestrichen, damit das Papier die Farben später nicht aufsaugt.

Prime the envelope first with clear gesso to protect the paper from soaking the colours.

Die Fläche unter dem Bild mit weißem Gesso kreuz und quer akzentuieren.

Paint the space under the picture criss-cross with white gesso to put it into the focus. 

aus Kraft-Papier von Canvas Corp Brands habe ich zwei Tags zugeschnitten, die oberen Ecken abgerundet und gestanzt und danach gelocht.
I cut two tags out of some kraft paper from Canvas Corp Brands, rounded and punched the edges and the middle of the top. 

Diesmal habe ich mit dem Stempeln des Hintergrunds angefangen, das ergibt einen etwas anderen Effekt als wenn man erst nach dem Farbauftrag stempelt.

Here I stamped the background first, it looks a little bit different than stamping after adding colors and texture.

Ich habe 3 verschiedene Stempel (BoBunny, Finnabair) mit Archival Ink Jet Black gestempelt. Wichtig ist, dass die Stempelfarbe wasserfest ist.

I used 3 different stamps (BoBunny, Finnabair) and stamped with Archival Ink Jet Black. It´s importand to use a water resist ink.

Nun zum Schablonieren: Ich habe 3 verschiedene Schablonen (LaBlanche, 13@rts) mit 3 unterschiedlichen Techniken verwendet.

I used 3 different stencils (LaBlanche, 13@rts) in 3 different ways.

1. Schablonieren mit Farbe mit Hilfe eines Blending Tools. Auch hier ist wichtig, dass die Stempelfarbe wasserfest ist.

1. Stencilling with Ink using a blending tool. Also here it is importand to use water resist Ink.


 









2. Schablonieren mit Modellierpaste. Zum Auftragen entweder einen Spatel oder eine alte Kreditkarte verwenden.
2. Stenciling with molding paste. You can use a palet knife or an old credit card.

3. Nochmals mit Farbe schablonieren, die Fläche soll aber nicht zu groß sein.

3. Again stenciling with water resist ink, take care to choose a not too big area.

4. Dieselbe Schablone wie eben noch einmal auf die eingefärbten Flächen legen und nun Texture Glass aufspachteln, nun aber die Fläche großzügig vergrößern. Die Masse trocknet glasklar und glänzend, ein toller Effekt!
4. Take the same stencil again and add Texture Glass with a palet knife, enlarge now the area generously. Texture Glass dries crystal clear and glossy, a wonderful effect!

Nun kommt noch etwas Farbe ins Spiel. Ich habe liquid watercolor von Ecoline und später etwas Kaffee verwendet.

Now comes the color. I used Ecoline liquid watercolor and some coffee.

Ich habe die Farbe in Spritzern auf dem Hintergrund verteilt und mit etwas Wasser besprüht, damit sie besser verlaufen.
 
I sprinkled the color onto the background and sprized some water to help the color run.

Hier nun das fertige Layout. Das Bild der hübschen Dame habe ich mit den Tags, einem gemusterten Papier von CCB, ein paar uralten Wäscheknöpfen, einem Metallmedaillon und einigen Kartonstücken unterlegt. An die Tags noch ein Stück Schnur, ein chipboard Teilchen (bluefern) mit Gesso bestrichen, etwas Spitzenband und ein Titel drauf, dann nur noch ein paar Spritzer mit verdünntem Gesso und schwarzer Tinte - fertig! Den Rand habe ich noch etwas distressed und mit DI walnut stain betont. Innen wird der zugeschnittene Karton zur Versteifung eingeschoben, der Umschlag zugeklebt und das war´s.
Here is the finished layout. The image of the pretty lady I have matted with the tags, a patterned paper of CCB, a few ancient linen buttons, a metal medallion and some pieces of cardboard. The tags got a piece of string, a chipboard piece (bluefern) with gesso coated, some lace and a title on it, then only a few drops of diluted gesso and black ink - done! The edges I distressed and DI walnut stain emphasizes them. Inside is inserted the tailored box for reinforcement, the envelope was closed and that´s it.

Heroes - Card for a Man

Hello all, nice to have you here!

it´s time again, a new month and a new Challenge over at Country View Challenges! This month the theme is "Use a Stencil". Just made for me, because I love to work with stencils! There are soooo many possibilities to use them.

I made a birthday card for a collegue and used several stencils in different ways.

This month alongside our Challenge, we are also running a Blog Hop with a Sizzix Big Shot Machine & Die Bundle as the prize. To enter, you must be a Follower of our Challenge Blog and Hop along to each of our Design Team Members Blogs and leave a comment. We will still be running our normal monthly challenge and those who link their Use A Stencil projects will also be entered into our £20 Voucher draw. Hallo zusammen, schön euch hier zu haben!

Heute ist es wieder soweit, neuer Monat und eine neue Herausforderung bei Country View Challenges und ein BLOG HOP MIT EINEM SAGENHAFTEN PREIS!!!!! Um den Preis gewinnen zu können, müsst ihr ein follower von Country View Challenges werden, zu allen Blogs der Hop-Liste (siehe oben) hüpfen und dort einen Kommentar hinterlassen - einfach, oder? Es gibt aber auch einen "normalen" Preis von £20, einlösbar im Shop, zu gewinnen - Werk verlinken und mitmachen.  Diesen Monat ist das Thema "Use a Stencil". Wie für mich gemacht, ich liebe das Arbeiten mit Schablonen! Es gibt sooooo viele Möglichkeiten mit ihnen zu arbeiten.

Ich habe eine Karte für einen Kollegen zum Geburtstag gemacht, bei der ich ein paar Schablonen auf unterschiedliche Weise verwendet habe.

Und so habe ich´s gemacht:

Als erstes habe ich ein Papier in der passenden Größe zugeschnitten, die Ränder distressed und mit Distress Ink "rusty hinge" eingefärbt.

First I cut a cardstock to the right size, distressed the edges and colored them with DI "rusty hinge".

Danach kam die erste Schablone zum Einsatz. Ich habe Strukturpaste mit einem Spatel in den Ecken aufgebracht - kleiner Tipp: es sieht oft schöner aus, wenn man nicht die ganze Schablone benutzt.

Now the first stencil was used. I randomly put some structure paste with a spatula at the edges - little hint: it looks better most of the time when you only use some parts of the stencil.

Damit das Weiß der Paste keine so harten Kontrast zum Hintergrund bildet, habe ich ein paar Sprühfarben zum Einfärben benutzt.

For not being such a hard contrast of the white paste to the background, I used some mists for coloring.

Für den Mittlepunkt habe ich eine weitere Schablone verwendet, in die ich erst mit einem kleinen Schriftstempel gestempelt habe.......

For the focal point I used another stencil, in which I first stamped with a little script stamp.......

 ......und danach mit DI "rusty hinge" mit Hilfe eines Blending Tools eingefärbt habe. Natürlich würde das auch mit einem anderen Schwämmchen funktionieren.

........and afterwards colored with DI "rusty hinge" using a Blending Tool. Of course you can use any other sponge too.

Nun habe ich noch zwei weitere Herrenschablonen in der Wischtechnik darüber gesetzt, hier habe ich DI "walnut stain" für den rechten Herrn und DI "black soot" für den oberen Herrn benutzt.

Now I used two other Gentleman stencils, overlapping the first one. I used DI "walnut stain" for the right one and DI "black soot" for the Gentleman on top.

Um den mittleren Herren noch etwas mehr herausstechen zu lassen, habe ich ihn mit WOW Embossingpulver "Clear Gloss Ultra High" zwei Mal überzogen.

To make the man in the middle stand out more, I embossed him twice with WOW embossing powder "Clear Gloss Ultra High". 

Zuletzt wurde der Hintergrund mit DI "tumbled glass" und "faded jeans" eingefärbt, der Spruchstempel: "Wir sind die Helden unserer eigenen Geschichte" aufgestempelt, mit einer alten Plastikkarte noch ein paar Striche aufgebracht und der Mittelpunkt war fertig.

The last step for the focal point was to color the background with DI "tumbled glass" and "faded jeans" and to stamp the sentiment "We are the heroes of our own story".

Das Stempelbild habe ich noch mit ein paar Papierabschnitten hinterlegt und auf die Karte geklebt. Als Verzierung habe ich ein paar 3D-Kugeln eingefärbt und mit einer Blume und einem Holzzahnrad verziert.

I matted the stamped picture with some scraps of paper and glued it down to the card. I embellished the card with some colored Art Stones, a paper flower and a wood gear.

Crazy Little Bird House

Hallo zusammen, schön, dass ihr hier vorbeischaut! Heute möchte ich euch mein zweites Projekt für die April Herausforderung "Frühling" bei Country View Challenges!

Ich habe ein kleines Vogelhäuschen verziert, das ich bei einem Euro-Laden gekauft habe.

Hello all, welcome to my blog! Today I want to share my second project for the April Challenge "Spring" over at Country View Challenges!

I decided to alter a little bird house, I found at a dollar store.

This is how it looked before:

Wie ihr vielleicht wisst, nehme ich an dem Online Kurs Wanderlust 2016 für Journaling und Mixed Media teil. Der Kurs von Kate Crane hat mir besonders gut gefallen und meine Arbeit hier ist sehr beeinflußt davon.

As you may know I´m a member of the Wanderlust 2016, a year long mixed-media and art journaling class. One of the classes I really loved and my work here is influenced by this class of Kate Crane. 

Ich habe ein paar Schritt für Schritt Fotos gemacht:

Als erstes habe ich das Häuschen mit Acrylfarben bemalt. 

 First I painted the little house with heavy acylic paint.

Als nächstes habe ich mit meinen neuen PaperArtsy Stamps gestempelt. 

Next step was stamping with my new PaperArtsy Stamps

 Nachdem alles getrocktet war, habe ich einige Bereiche mit Acrylmarker umrandet und betont und ein wenig mit schwarzem Marker gekritzelt. Als Schutz habe ich das Häuschen mit Soft Touch Varnish (matter Klarlack) lackiert.

Ganz zum Schluß habe ich noch ein paar Blüten und das Schildchen, auf das ich "Home" geschrieben habe, aufgeklebt.

After everything was dry, I started to highlight some areas with white acrylic marker and doodled a little bit with a black marker. For protection I sealed everything with Soft Touch Varnish.

The last step was, to add some flowers and a lable on which I wrote "Home".

Two Tags for Spring!

Hello all, a warm welcome to my blog!

Today I want to tell you exciting news: I´m a new Member of the Design Team over at Country View Challenges! I´m very proud and curious on the upcoming adventure.

Heute habe ich eine tolle Neuigkeit für euch: ich bin nun Mitglied des Design Teams bei Country View Challenges! Ich bin mächtig stolz und schon ganz gespannt auf dieses neue Abenteuer.

Über die April Challenge freue ich mich sehr, sie hat das Thema "Frühling".

 Holt also alle eure Farben heraus und begrüßt die länger werdenden Tage, das sprießende Grün, die ersten Blüten und den wärmenden Sonnenschein!

Ich habe für euch zwei Tags gemacht, ihr findet weiter unten Schritt für Schritt Fotos.

Here are some step x step photos:

1. take a tag (I used size #8), apply colors directly with the ink pads, sprinkle some water on top and dry with a heat tool.

 2. add some stamping on the background for interest

 3. stamp some greenery with embossing ink and heat emboss with black embossing powder.

 4. spray with white, opaque color mist to tone down a bit, add some droplets.

 5. diecut some cardstock (I used Tim Holtz Mixed Media Thinlits), color it with distress ink ground espresso, also go round the edges with a blending tool.

 6. Take some leftover package, scribble the top and color the corrugated surface with DI

7. stamp the cute little bird, color it with DI, spread the color with a water brush

8. Put everthing together, embellish and add diecut letters - and ready!
