Steampunk Folder for Canvas Corp Brands

Hello all, nice to have you here today!
I recently made a new altered folder, using loads of paints and mists from Canvas Corp Brands.
To alter my chipboard cogs and gears I used the Naturally Aged Kit - Bronze Patina. Loved it! I also made a video tutorial, you can find it here.

Hallo zusammen! Schön, dass ihr bei mir vorbeischaut.
Heute habe ich eine neue Seite aus meinem Art Journal. Ich habe mir das Büchlein vor einiger Zeit gekauft. Nun habe ich ein Thema dafür gefunden, mit dem ich es so nach und nach füllen möchte: Gesichter!
Auf YouTube  habe ich eine Künstlerin entdeckt, Juna Biagioni, die unglaublich tolle Gesichter malt. Nachdem ich einige ihrer Videos angesehen hatte, habe ich mich auch einmal daran gewagt, ein Gesicht zu malen.

Today I want to show you a new page of my Art Journal. I bought this Journal some time ago. It was sitting on my table, waiting for a theme to be filled with. Now I found it: faces!
On YouTube I discovered an Artist, Juna Biagioni, who paints wonderful faces. After watching some of her videos, I decided to try to paint a face by myself.

Das war mein erster Versuch:

Gezeichnet habe ich Gesichter schon früher, nur gemalt habe ich noch nie eins.

This was my first trial.

I was drawing faces years ago, but never painted one.

Sieht so ein wenig aus wie "Avatar", die Proportionen stimmen noch nicht so ganz, aber ich mag sie eigentlich ganz gerne. Am schwierigsten finde ich Licht und Schatten (stimmt hier auch noch nicht ganz).

She looks a little bit like "Avatar", the proportions are not perfect, but I like her. The most difficult thing for me are highlights and shadows (they are not right here too).

Nachdem mir mein erster Versuch sehr viel Spaß gemacht hat, wollte ich natürlich gleich weiter üben.
After having much fun with my first trial, I wanted to make more exercises.


Ich fand die Herausforderung bei More than Words Main Challenge "Change & Ombre" als Thema sehr passend. Das Malen ist definitiv eine Veränderung in meiner Arbeit! Auch habe ich die Gesichtsfarbe der Vorlage in grau geändert.
Die linke Seite meines Eintrags ist im Ombre Effekt gestaltet.
I thought, the Challenge over at More than Words Main Challenge "Change & Ombre" was fitting for my page. Painting is definitely a change to my usual craft work! I also changed the face color into grey. The left side of my pages I made in Ombre - from dark grey to white.






Für mein Portrait habe ich ein Foto aus einer Zeitschrift als Vorlage benutzt, einfach um ein wenig mehr Sicherheit zu bekommen, besonders was Licht und Schatten anbelangt.

For my portrait, I used a photo from a magazine as a template, just to get a little more security, especially regarding to highlights and shadows.

Was auf dem Foto noch fehlt ist sind Gelatos in der Farbe blau und hautfarben, das Gesso und Matte Medium.

Halloween ATCs

Hello all, nice to have you here!
It´s the first of October and you know what it means: A new challenge over at Country View Challenge! This month the theme is All things spooky!

Although Halloween is not a favourite theme for me, I had much fun, creating this set of ATCs.
I found that little skeletons in a dollor store and thought, I would use them in a bit funny way =)

Here a step x step:

 I cut some cardboard and white cardstock into right size.

Then I glued some stripes on top for texture.

Now I prepared the surface with clear Gesso.

 To add some more texture I put modeling paste through a stencil

 Then it was time for color! I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, Simply sheer and Glimmer Glam in Halloween colors, sprayed directly on top and dried them with a heating tool.

I stamped the crow from a 7Gypsies stamp set and then I glued down the skeletons and embellishments.

Colorful Travel Journal

Hello all, welcome to my blog!

Here is my second project for the challenge "Travel" over at Country View Challenges this month.

Last month I showed you my art journal pages, prepared with leftover paints from another project. I promised, to show you the project, where I used the paints. 

As you may know, I am an adventurer at Wanderlust 2016. One of the very first classes was the one from Kate Crane and I utterly enjoyed her work and wanted to try it out, but as you all may know, some things need a little time.

In July a dear friend of mine celebrated her birthday and I knew, that she wanted to go to Danmark for some weeks. So this was a very good reason to make this travel journal as her birthday gift!

I made this little journal after the class of Kate Crane, so I can´t tell you too much about the making of and the techniques, but I´ll show you the close up photos from all the pages - front and back. So grab a cup of coffee, there are a couple of pictures ;-)

The front and the back are made from a canvas covred greyboard, steciled with modeling paste and painted. The butterflies are highlighted with some pink Inka Gold.

 At the right page there is a little pocket. I inserted some stamped tags, where one can write some important things, glue tickets, ..... whatever

Here are some blank pages in the middle for some writing. I used my sewing machine. 

That´s my little Travel Journal! I hope you liked it, I had so much fun making it and it definitely won´t be my last one.

Heute ist der erste September und das heißt, Zeit für eine neue Herausforderung bei Country View Challenge! Diesen Monat lautet das Thema: "Reise", ausgewählt von der talentierten Jennie.

Today it´s the first of September and that means time for a new Challenge over at Country View Challenge! This month the theme is: "Travel", hosted by the talented Jennie.

 Als ich jung war, liebte ich es mit dem Motorrad zu verreisen. Ich fuhr zwar nie selber, ich war nur Beifahrerin, aber ich habe immer das Gefühl von Freiheit und von (ein klein wenig)  Abenteuer genossen ;-). Nun, diese Art von Urlaub möchte ich heute nicht mehr machen - es ist eine sehr spartanische Art des Reisens: zwei T-Shirts, ein Paar Hosen, ein Handtuch, Unterwäsche und eine Zahnbürste, das ist alles, was man einpacken kann. Ein kleines Zelt und eine Isomatte, mehr kannst du auf einem Motorrad nicht mitnehmen. Heute bevorzuge ich ein bisschen mehr Komfort, aber ich erinnere mich an diese Tagen mit einem Lächeln.

 When I was young, I loved to travel by motorbike. I never drove one myself, I only was a back-seat-driver, but nevertheless I always enjoyed the feeling of freedom and (a little bit of) adventure ;-). Well, this way of holidays is not the way I´d love to go today - it is a very unpretentious way of travelling: you only have space for two T-shirts, one pair of pants, a towel, underwear and a toothbrush, that´s it. A little tent and a sleeping pad, more you can´t carry on a motocycle. Nowadays I prefer a bit more comfort, but I remember these days with a smile.

Für meine Karte habe ich einige der Papiere von dem Papierset Correspondence von Tim Holtz verwendet. Ich habe das Hintergrundpapier mit ein paar Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists (Burnt Red, Olive Vine, Tattered Leather) besprüht. Das Motorrad (Stempel von LaBlanche) habe ich auf Stempelpapier gestempelt und mit DI (weathered wood, fired brick) eingefärbt. Die distressten Ränder des Papiers und des Stempelbilds habe ich noch mit DI ground espresso and abandoned coral coloriert. Zum Schluß noch einige Metallzahnräder und kleine Blüten als Verzierung und das wars.

For my card I used some of the papers from the Tim Holtz paper pad Correspondence and misted it a little bit with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists (Burnt Red, Olive Vine, Tattered Leather). I staped the motorcycle (LaBlanche) on a specialty stamping paper, colored it with DI (weathered wood, fired brick). The distressed edges of the paper and the stamped image I coloured with DI ground espresso and abandoned coral. The sentiment is a stamp from the Dovecraft Bohemian clear stamp set. Last I embellished the card with some metal gears and some tiny flowers.
